PORT ANTONIO

Port Antonio, a settlement first established in Spanish Jamaica when it was known as Puerto Anton, formally became a parish in 1723.

It is named after the Duke of Portland, who was the then-Governor of Jamaica and is often referred to as Jamaica's “Cradle of Tourism”.

Port Antonio is one of the most exotic environments in the world, with its beautiful Blue Lagoon, secluded Frenchman's Cove Beach, and the ruins of Folly Mansion. You can swim and snorkel with sea turtles in the emerald-blue waters of the Blue Lagoon or take photos while hiking to the Folly Lighthouse, which was built in 1888.

Get a glimpse of the twentieth century when visiting Titchfield Peninsula.  The architectural style of the entire peninsula, which dates back to the Victorian era, is well-known.

Given its obscurity, seclusion and beauty, Port Antonio is a favorite destination of many Hollywood stars.

Former guests have included Errol Flynn, Rudyard Kipling and Elizabeth Taylor. It is also the Caribbean playground to many of today’s leading actors and musicians including Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger and Beyoncé + Jay Z.
